Forbes has just shared its list of the highest paid artists of 2022. Among them, we find some of the most coveted musicians, actors, directors and presenters.
In first place is Genesis, the progressive rock group that originated in the mid-1960s, having raised $230 million by selling its music rights to Concord Music Group. Close behind is Sting, who also sold his back catalogue for $210 million to Universal Music Group. Rounding out the podium is Tyler Perry, with $175 million in profits from the film and television industries.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park, are in fourth place after signing with Paramount and HBO Max, while James L. Brooks and Matt Groening, the two names behind The Simpsons, have a net worth of $105 million. Brad Pitt ties for the top spot thanks to his income from the sale of his production company and his recent big screen roles (‘Bullet Train’, ‘Babylon’ and ‘The Lost City’).
At number 6, The Rolling Stones, with 98 million dollars from their latest tour. James Cameron is close behind with $95 million thanks to the latest Avatar film, just ahead of Taylor Swift, the only woman on the list to have earned $92 million from her album sales. Last but not least, Bad Bunny, with $88 million and two world tours behind him, as well as his contract with adidas.
