In a tribute to hip-hop, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, Tommy Hilfiger presents its new TOMMY JEANS Remastered collection by Central Cee and Glorilla. The new capsule fuses the brand’s legacy with the hip-hop aesthetic, offering a contemporary interpretation of iconic silhouettes from the Tommy Hilfiger archives that have left their mark on the culture.
The collection’s campaign features British rapper Central Cee (@CentralCee), as well as American rapper GloRilla(@GloRillaPimp). Both artists embody the essence of this culture and are a standard bearer for limitless creativity in the music industry, which is why Tommy Hilfiger wanted to feature them on this special occasion. “Such an iconic anniversary calls for an equally iconic capsule. With this collection we celebrate moments that defined the look of 90s hip-hop and redesign them for today. I’m thrilled to be able to work with Central Cee and GloRilla, two modern-day icons who are sharing with new generations the boundless creativity that defines this culture,” says Tommy Hilfiger. a esta cultura”, asegura Tommy Hilfiger.
The TOMMY JEANS Remastered collection consists of 17 pieces, ranging from oversized to reinterpretations of classic TOMMY HILFIGER designs. Among the standout pieces is the reissue of the iconic striped rugby jersey immortalized by the legendary Snoop Dog during his appearance on “Saturday Night Live” in 1994. We can also find the “Big Logo” puffer, worn by artists such as Aaliyah and Raekwon, which fuses Tommy’s red, white and blue flag. And from the icons of the year 2000 we find the reinterpretation of the biker cropped leather jacket that evokes the style of the legendary TLC, and the Chicago windbreaker, with large logos and vibrant colors inspired by the nautical environment. The number 85, the year of the brand’s birth, is printed on the oversize soccer jersey from the archives that Central Cee recently wore during his “On The Radar” performance, as well as on the vintage wash oversize sweatshirt and t-shirt. Among the most eye-catching oversize garments are the prepp varsity and leather jacket with red, white and black accents, the Air Force-style cropped nylon jacket, and the black denim baggy pants.
The campaign, captured by talented photographer Lea Winker, immortalizes Central Cee and GloRilla, drawing inspiration from the golden age of hip-hop. Also, aiming to connect with the voices of tomorrow, the 3D visuals feature hip-hop duo Ghost Kidz, in collaboration with entertainment brand Superplastic. Lil’ILL, one of the characters, wears the TOMMY JEANS Remastered jacket with the flag in the brand’s iconic colors, while Filth-E wears the black football-style T-shirt.
