Trent is the European rental platform for emerging brands

From Barcelona, comes the online platform Trent, which offers rental services of pieces from emerging designers and niche brands. It is a circular business model that allows users to rotate their closet by accessing exclusive pieces and thus consuming more consciously.

Laia Cusco and Alejandro Assens are the entrepreneurs behind the platform launched in September 2022. The initiative emerged with the aim of boosting the visibility of emerging designers on the European scene, and above all the commitment to move towards more sustainable and circular models in the fashion industry.

Trent seeks to inspire and boost creativity in the context of fashion,” shared Laia Cusco. “We want people to dare to try and experiment with unique and special pieces that entertain and elevate their style.” The online closet Trent presents offers a wide variety of designer garments and accessories from niche brands considered luxury for their price and quality.

There are three rental options: the first is for one-off rental, designed for an event or special occasion, and you can request any item from the catalog for a period of 1, 2 or 3 weeks and up to a maximum of one month, for a price that will vary depending on the piece and the period of time you choose.

The second option is a monthly subscription, the ‘X’ plan that allows you to rent three pieces per month for a value of up to 250 euros per piece, for the price of 90 euros per month. The last option is also a monthly subscription with plan ‘Y’, with the same operation, but the pieces will have a value of up to 1,300 euros each and the price is 145 euros per month.

The platform also offers the option to buy; Trent advises to start with the rental option through which you can test the piece and avoid impulse buying.

“Trent was born with the mission to change the way we consume fashion and trends,” says Alejandro Assens. “We want people to pay to wear, not to own”. It’s a way of re-educating the consumer, trying to leave fast fashion behind and replacing it with meaningful fashion.
