Vaquera returns to her punk roots for FW23

Directed by Patric DiCaprio and Bryn Taubensee, the Cowboy brand has opted to return to its punk and subversive origins for the FW23 season.

Vaquera is once again one of the brands to open the Paris Fashion Week calendar. Directed by Patric DiCaprio and Bryn Taubensee, this time, the brand has chosen to return to its punk and subversive origins.

During the SS23 collection, designers Patric DiCaprio and Bryn Taubensee’s effort to bring a subversive American dream to the French capital was effortlessly achieved. Vaquera paid homage to the sailors of the Caribbean while celebrating their homeland with American flag dresses. This season, the New York brand went for the complete opposite.

The collection was pure punk and you could see it from the first look, which consisted of a tiny bralette, leather midi skirt, gloves and a balaclava. Vaquera also previewed spiked ensembles, including leather jackets paired with frayed denim skirts and underwear on the outside. To break with this subversive trend, the collection also included seven looks in black, white and silk pink with a bridal feel.

We talk to W/ Mamasuper after the success of their son Kidsuper at PFW.
