Woolmark has already announced the six finalists of its next edition that will take place in 2021: Bethany Williams, Casablanca, Kenneth Ize, Lecavalier, Matty Bovan and Thebe Magugu.

For those who haven’t yet heard, the Woolmark Award, which Richard Malone won earlier this year, is an award given to an emerging designer to grow his business.

The winner will receive a prize of A$200,000 (approximately 122,500 euros) to invest in their own brand. In addition, another designer will receive the Karl Lagerfeld Award for Innovation. As last year, this award will offer the creative 100,000 Australian dollars (approximately 61,000 euros).

According to the press release, all designers will have to produce a wool collection. The theme for 2021 will be “less is more” and aims to celebrate craftsmanship and slow fashion. The new member of the Woolmark Award Advisory Board, Naomi Campbell, shared these words:

“It is my pleasure to support the International Woolmark Award. Now more than ever, in these incredibly difficult times for our industry, we must continue to support and nurture the emerging voices in fashion design. They are the future.
