The Japanese designer continues to reinforce his powerful legacy in fashion with a new proposal for adidas Y-3 that explores luxury and athletic design in his avant-garde approach.
This FW24 collection experiments with shapes and volumes in a neutral black and white palette synchronised with the creative’s visual narrative.
Yamamoto now takes his core athletic technical garments to a new dimension based on Y-3’s hybrid design philosophy structured around sportswear sophistication. A concept that is now reflected in sculptural pieces like a black techwear-trend trench coat that is elevated with a slightly twisted layered fabric, adidas three-stripe strap closures and a nylon belt closure.
That same wrap-around closure technology carries over to the close-fitting puffer and shell jackets, while intricately experimenting with volumes and shapes across the outerwear. From fishtail nylon parkas to cropped jackets and even a blazer that seamlessly fuses tailoring with utilitarianism.
The Y-3 FW24 collection is completed with slim-fit suits, tracksuits, relaxed knitwear, oversize trousers and some elegant dresses sealed on the side by Trefoil stripes.
