Ye, the rapper and entrepreneur formerly known as Kanye West, has apologised to the Jewish community for his anti-Semitic statements made earlier this month in a message written in Hebrew, which he shared on his social media.
“I sincerely apologise to the Jewish community for any unintentional outbursts caused by my words or actions. It was not my intention to hurt or disrespect and I deeply regret any pain I may have caused,” he explained.
The singer said he intended to change and was committed to “repairing the damage and promoting unity”. “I pledge to start with myself and learn from this experience to ensure greater sensitivity and understanding in the future. Your forgiveness is important to me”.
Twitter, now known as X, suspended his account in December 2022 after he posted an image of a Star of David with a Nazi swastika inside, all after claiming on a show hosted by US conspiracy theorist Alex Jones that he liked Hitler’s ideals.
