After a long wait, Kanye West and Demna Gvasalia have officially launched the long-awaited Yeezy Gap Enginereed By Balenciaga. Earlier this week Drop 1 launched on Yeezygap and Farfetch and took minutes to sell out. Now images of all the Yeezy Gap x Balenciaga garments have surfaced, are you ready for what’s to come?

Ever since rapper Kanye West, now Ye, started wearing Balenciaga total looks, we began to suspect that something big was coming. And we weren’t wrong. In January, Kim Kardashian‘s ex-husband posted on social media what appeared to be a legal contract confirming the Yeezy, Gap and Balenciaga union. What was a step further in hypebeast culture has finally seen the light of day in a first release that has sold out in minutes.

After Monday’s announcement that Yeezy Gap Enginereed By Balenciaga Drop 1 would be available on Yeezygap and Farfetch, we all set our alarms to make sure we didn’t miss any details of the capsule. To our surprise, it never came out that day. It was Tuesday when we saw the eight pieces that perfectly reflect the creative visions of two of the most influential people in today’s creative scene: artist Kanye West and designer Demna Gvasalia.

The collection is an “ongoing alignment of Ye’s creative endeavours, an intersection of music, art and culture”. Coinciding with the debut of DONDA 2 Yeezy Gap Enginereed By Balenciaga comes at a time when the artist is experimenting more than ever with his aesthetic and creative output. The predominantly black capsule includes hoodies, t-shirts, sweatpants and a distressed denim jacket with matching jeans.

As well as releasing these first pieces, we also got to see images of what the entire collaboration will look like. Urban minimalism and post-apocalyptic aesthetics pervade the entire capsule. Among the garments, we highlight outwear silhouettes, a jumpsuit, a backpack and we still don’t know if there will be shoes or accessories. Although drop 1 has been out since 23 February, the exact date of the second, and any other possible release, remains a secret.
