Samsung’s ultra-curved gaming monitor, dubbed the Odyssey G9, is now available for pre-order.
The concave screen has 49″ and has a degree of curvature of 1000R that “matches the curve of the human eye” for a definitive dive, Samsung says. The Odyssey uses Samsung’s patented QLED Quantum Dot pixel technology that delivers 125 percent more color than standard sRGB output. It has a 1ms response time that allows players to keep up with the information overload that is displayed during multiplayer games. Finally, G-Sync and FreeSync support provides the most reliable pairing with your computer’s graphics card.
Beyond the internal technology, the Odyssey G9 49″ also includes infinite core lighting that allows the user to fine-tune the external display lighting ring. The color scheme can be modified to match the internal LED configuration of any tower, the room lighting arrangement, a desk accessory and more. The futuristic clean white chassis, fine surrounding bezels, matching white arm and minimalist support legs complete the strong aesthetic look.
The Samsung Odyssey G9 49″ monitor is accepting pre-orders for $1,699 USD at Samsung USA with a shipping date of July 13. However, you have a choice: the 32″ Odyssey G7 monitor, while lacking most of the specifications mentioned above, is also available for pre-order for $799 USD.
