adidas Football has released their new X SPEEDPORTAL boot and guess who they’ve enlisted to help launch the silhouette…. Rick and Morty.
The new boot features the multi-dimensional speed concept, described by Franziska Aurnhammer, Senior Product Manager at adidas, as “encompassing mental quickness, positioning, space creation and more”.
The boot achieves its goal with an updated SPEEDFRAME outsole, a completely new stud design, a stability system for support, fit and lockdown, and SPEEDSKIN 2.0 in the upper.
To launch the boot, adidas worked with Rick and Morty and created a short film with Mo Salah and Vivianne Miedema. The characters from one of the hottest adult animations of the moment.
“Seeing Rick and Morty alongside Mo Salah and Vivianne Miedema is the dream team you never knew you needed to say,” says Jill King, senior vice president of marketing and partnerships at Adult Swim. “You’d never expect to see these characters together on screen, but when you do, it just clicks and it works well.”
