In response to the increase in loungewear to cope with the quarantine, adidas Originals has updated its Stan Smith and Vans its Old Skool and Slip-On models as mules. And we’re not disappointed by the result.
The first ones were born in the tennis court in the 1970s. Now the familiar lines of this classic design are being reformulated into a heel-less version. Meanwhile, the Californian brand Vans is taking the opportunity to reinvent itself and reconstruct two iconic silhouettes for its latest “Mule Family” collection.
adidas Stan Smith Slip-On
The adidas Stan Smith retains the essence of the shoe like the smooth leather upper, the three-striped perforations on the side and the adidas logo on the tongue. The main difference, of course, is the backless construction of the shoe. Available in two shades, mustard yellow and white, the stitching and laces maintain both monochromatic colors.
The adidas Stan Smith Slip-On is now on sale for 69 euros on the adidas website.
Vans Old Skool y Slip-On “Mule Family”
But Vans has not been left behind. The brand has also updated its iconic Old Skool and Slip-On shoes, perhaps the two most famous, reinterpreting the two models as mules. In bright colors like red, green and yellow, the sneakers make up the new “Mule Family” package.
The special edition “Mule Family” Vans go on sale today for 55 euros on the Vans website.
