Irony, baroque and reminiscences of the Gothic poet Isabella Santacroce make Magliano’s SS21 the most viral thing in MFW.
The presentations and shows become virtual, what until a few weeks ago seemed a remote hypothesis, is reality. Although we miss the excitement of the show and the buzz of glamorous parties and gatherings, we appreciate the effectiveness of a fast and democratic medium that allows everyone to enter the dream of fashion.
“Narration is the first form of augmented reality. We asked ourselves how we could overcome the virtual medium to convey the emotion and research behind each object, and we came to the conclusion that the word is the strongest medium,” says Luchino Magliano, creative director of the Magliano brand. The Bolognese brand is one of the most interesting emerging realities in terms of research and unconventional ideas, which reinterpret the film world of the province of Emilia, with a cultured, contemporary and cosmopolitan style.
Each project by Luchino Magliano breaks the stylistic conventions of trends with an emotional force, a new humanism full of sensuality that he projects onto the dress, through a real human archive of characters, which he stages as a director.
This time, the postmodern geometry of Remo Brindisi’s house-museum in Lidi Ferraresi, designed by Nanda Vigo, manages to give the video a surrealist dimension between reality and digital reconstruction. But the project is successful because it is crossed by a sense of irony, which gives a precious lightness to everything.
A new hit on the table of Magliano that continues to emerge as the future of an increasingly repetitive scene.
