Virgil Abloh has just partnered with Mercedes-Benz in a project that celebrates the company’s iconic G-Class model, which turned 40 last year. Virgil, there’s no stopping you!
As if his career as a designer, DJ, artist and curator didn’t keep him busy all day, Virgil is now immersed in a new professional challenge. Entitled “Project Geländewagen“, Abloh has partnered with Mercedes-Benz design director Gorden Wagener (@gorden.wagener) on an exclusive artwork that will be digitally launched on September 8th.
“Mercedes-Benz is a brand that stands for luxury and exceptional performance”, says Abloh. “Truly a perfect chassis to interject modern artists’ ideas of what the future can be stylistically, within conceptual car design”. So, both artists will be auctioning off their work to support independent artists currently struggling to establish themselves in the midst of the pandemic. Remember!
