In the midst of the current COVID-19 pandemic, The Row of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen has announced that it is going through a severe financial crisis. As a solution they are thinking of getting rid of their men’s clothing line as well.
The truth is that The Row has been financially unstable for a long time, even before the pandemic. According to nearby sources, the company has had to lay off half its staff because of the coronavirus. In addition, the label has been accused of racial inequality since it has no black employees at its corporate headquarters and very few Asian employees.
WWD has confirmed that Ashley is now acting as CEO, while Mary-Kate has taken over the position of creative director for the brand. We’ll see what happens to the brand eventually.
