Without a doubt, 2021 has been a great year for London designer Priya Ahluwalia. After winning the Queen Elizabeth II Award, the BFC and the GQ Designer Menswear Fund, she now surprises us with this sublime collection. Directed by BAFTA nominee Akinola Davies Jr, “Parts of Me” presents the collection as a whole through a study of the creative processes of the 1970s and highlights the racial liberation movements in the US and UK.
The garments are presented in a variety of fabrics and fabrications such as patchwork, tailoring and retro tracksuits. Meanwhile, basics take shape in delicate printed pieces in a unisex style.
Closing the collection, Ahluwalia has presented a collection of bags in collaboration with Mulberry. The capsule consists of 12 bags made from repurposed fabrics and four scarves.
