Stella McCartney returns to the catwalks with an intimate fashion show for the spring/summer 2022 season. The brand committed to sustainability has stood out for a collection that redefines the concept of sensuality.
This season sees the return of body-con silhouettes, with sporty dresses and sexy side slits. The collection redefines sensuality through softness and lightness. There was also plenty of sparkle, party dresses dominated the catwalk with crystal diamond looks in nude and neon green.
Mushrooms were a recurring theme throughout the collection, from the prints to the first bag made from Mylo, a vegan leather made from mushroom roots. In keeping with his philosophy, sixty-three percent of the collection is made from eco-friendly materials.
Mylo wasn’t the only sustainable textile – there was also recycled polyester and elastane, regenerated nylon, forest-friendly viscose and responsibly traced wool, as well as an innovative dye made from recycled materials, as detailed in McCartney‘s eco fact sheet.
If summer 2021 was all about the ugly shoe, next year looks no different, as McCartney has prioritised comfort on the catwalk with cushioned platform wedges. Naturally, made from recycled and bio-sourced materials.
