Alexander Mcqueen returns to London to present its SS22 collection

British fashion house Alexander Mcqueen returns to its hometown to present its SS22 collection and celebrate its return to the runways.

Held a few feet above the London sky and under a transparent bubble designed by Smiljan Radic, Sarah Burton, the current creative director of Alexander Mcqueen, presented her RTW SS22 collection to a small number of guests. This was her first staging and her return to the catwalks, as since the beginning of the pandemic, the British fashion house decided not to hold any shows. Not only that, but this “rentrée” also coincided with a return to the London catwalks after 20 years.

As we said, after 20 years without presenting a collection in its home city, S.B. and his team decided to return to this one and present their proposal on the rooftop of a car park in London’s East End, to pay homage to all the spectacular skies that Burton and his team see every day from their studio.

As for the collection, it was made up of a total of 36 looks, many of which were characterised by their black colour. But this collection was not only made up of black garments, colours such as white, blue and yellow also had their place and prominence in this SS22, without forgetting the different shades of pink.

Finally, we have to highlight several of the garments, such as the taffeta parka dresses, the voluminous outerwear or the impressive dresses (some of them with “paillettes” and fringes) and tulle skirts.

Alexander McQueen’s return to the catwalks and to the city of London was an event that will take some time to forget. If you haven’t seen the show yet, click here to watch it,
