This is the first ready-to-wear collection by YUME YUME

From designing shoes with Japanese influences to presenting its first ready-to-wear collection, the Dutch brand goes far beyond footwear and surprises us with ‘Dramatic Poetry’ Fall / Winter 2023.

YUME YUME is one of those brands for, as they say, “dream builders, people who dare to imagine and build their own environment instead of simply inhabiting it”. The firm born in 2018, whose name precisely means “dream” in Japanese, is committed to designs inspired by Japanese aesthetics, creating unique pieces. Based in Amsterdam, YUME YUME dives into garment design with its first ready-to-wear collection ‘Dramatic Poetry’ Fall / Winter 2023.

YUME YUME‘s ready-to-wear collection is constructed from black and pewter-toned vegan leather and features his signature architectural design on each garment. The launch includes a structured jacket, an XXL coat with arm detailing and ruffles down the back, backless mushroom skirt dresses, a lace-up dress, sheer tops, straight-cut trousers with ruffled detailing, matching shoes and a very special hat to complete the looks.

“We started with footwear and now we’re moving into ready-to-wear to offer a complete look. It’s a direct translation of the core of the brand. The DNA is visible and recognisable,” said Eva Korsten, co-founder and creative director. “We use our signature features such as puffed and vegan leather materials as the basis of the collection. The FW23 season is a starting point, the foundation. From here we will build and explore different perspectives each season.”

YUME YUME es una de esas marcas para, como bien dicen ellos, “los constructores de sueños, las personas que se atreven a imaginar y construir su propio entorno en lugar de simplemente habitarlo”. La firma nacida en 2018 cuyo nombre precisamente significa en japonés “sueño”, apuesta por diseños inspirados en la estética nipona, creando piezas únicas. Con sede en Ámsterdam, YUME YUME se mete de lleno en el diseño de prendas con su primera colección prêt-à-porter ‘Dramatic Poetry’ Fall / Winter 2023.
