Pharrell Williams, appointed to head Louis Vuitton‘s menswear division early last year, continues to build on the vast legacy left by Virgil Abloh, adopting the house’s codes to the era we live in, and even to a future era.
This design language, based on the intersection between streetwear or its subcultural impact and the avant-garde, is now translated into a series of garments for the SS24 season. One in which he returns to his Parisian roots with vibrant menswear that has already been worn by the likes of Rihanna and LeBron James.
This is a new modern episode in which the models appear on staircases in motorbike-inspired leather outfits, with rectangular sunglasses and helmets. Scenes that connect with others in historic buildings, bridges or emblems where other pieces such as cropped plaid blazers in subtle grey tones can also be seen. Meanwhile, urban influences dazzle in rhinestone-encrusted varsity jackets, paired with several monogrammed bags derived from their million-dollar counterparts.
Finally, cosy tracksuits are sheathed in pearlescent decoration, and pixelated Williams graphics finish off the visual impact of the range, complete with rubber rain boots and an A$AP Rocky denim uniform.
