“I remember sitting next to her and feeling that my heart was going to stop; her beauty overwhelmed me” are words from Mario Sorrenti (@mario_sorrenti) about the first time he met Kate Moss in 1991 in London.
From that very instant a deep human and artistic alchemy absorbs them, they begin a relationship in which they do not stop travelling and taking many photographs. Kate, seventeen-year-old skinny and already magnetic, became Sorrenti’s muse who portrays her, in a series of black and white shots, at any time of day: when she eats, swims or sleeps.
These photographs sparked Calvin Klein‘s famous 1993 Obsession campaign, which launched Kate into international success and Sorrenti into the Olympics of the world’s top fashion photographers. Now, many years later, those intimate portraits and other unpublished and unknown ones become “Kate“, a book, to be published in autumn by Phaidon and edited by Dennis Freedman, founder and creative director of W magazine, which collects 50 images of the supermodel before the big boom.
This extraordinary book, will offer us a rare look of Kate Moss, and we are sure that the sold out will not take long to appear. The price of this paper jewel will be 75 euros.
