Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami are the stars of the most special revival

The Maison is preparing to open in 2025 with a launch that promises to make history.

Celebrating 20 years since its iconic collaboration with visionary Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, Louis Vuitton announces a nostalgic reissue that connects past and present through the timelessness of design.

The news was confirmed with a teaser posted on social media, which sparked excitement among fans by offering a glimpse of Murakami‘s vibrant floral motifs and iconic bear, combined with the LV monogram. And while most details remain under wraps, all indications are that the collection will feature reinterpretations of key pieces that defined one of the brand’s most creative eras. Bags, accessories and general objects of desire seem to be on the horizon, revamped for a new generation.

To understand the importance and impact this partnership had on the history of fashion, we must go back to the Spring/Summer 2003 runway show of the French house, then under the creative direction of Marc Jacobs. The bags abandoned classic tones for bright colours: emerald green, turquoise, yellow and vibrant pink, while the Japanese artist’s monogram and cherry blossoms added a playful, contemporary touch. This fusion redefined luxury, turning each piece into a cultural symbol that remains highly coveted at auctions around the world.

The LV x Takashi Murakami collection will be released on 1 January 2025, marking the start of a year that already promises to be full of nostalgia and modernity.
