Louis Vuitton has opened an exhibition in Paris that highlights its connection to Art Deco. The show coincides with the centenary of the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts of 1925. With this project, the Maison reaffirms itself not only as a benchmark in fashion and travel but also as an active part of design history.

The exhibition brings together over 300 pieces, many of them previously unseen. They are displayed across eight rooms, each with its own narrative. The tour begins with the origins of the House and concludes with a reconstruction of its stand at the 1925 Exhibition. The focus is on Gaston-Louis Vuitton, grandson of the founder, who infused the brand with a distinctive aesthetic language. His interest in decorative arts and his collaborations with artists such as Pierre-Émile Legrain and Camille Cless-Brothier marked a turning point.

Among the objects on display are technical trunks, beauty cases, geometric bags, and historic display cabinets. Notable is Nicolas Ghesquière’s Cruise 2020 collection, inspired by New York’s Art Deco architecture. Also included are creations by Pharrell Williams, Marc Jacobs, and Kim Jones, which evoke the vibrant energy of the 1920s.

Louis Vuitton’s Art Deco exhibition has been open since 26 September at 26 Quai de la Mégisserie, Paris.
