The ever-unpredictable Kanye West — now known as Ye — seems to have finally set a specific date for the release of his highly anticipated new album, Bully, which is now scheduled for 27 March. The new date has begun to circulate following the appearance of several promotional posters in different cities across the United States, suggesting that the project has been delayed by a week from its initial schedule.
The release was originally scheduled for 20 March, as previously reported by Rolling Stone. In addition to marking West’s return to recording, Bully would also be his first release under the independent music and distribution company Gamma, with which the artist is embarking on a new professional phase after years of controversy.
Earlier this month, West surprised everyone by publishing a full-page ad in The Wall Street Journal apologising for his past anti-Semitic comments. In the text, the artist explained that some of those episodes were related to moments of disconnection stemming from his type 1 bipolar disorder, although he stressed that none of this justifies his actions.
The move also comes at a curious moment in West’s universe. His eldest daughter, North West — from his relationship with Kim Kardashian — has also signed with Gamma and is already preparing her debut album, titled The Elementary School Dropout. Although it is still too early to know what her project will sound like, the truth is that North has been working on it for years.
Meanwhile, Bully has been in development for years and has already dropped some hints about its creative universe. In 2025, West leaked different versions of the project, including a black-and-white short film directed by Hype Williams. The album will follow Vultures 2, released in August 2024 with Ty Dolla $ign as part of the supergroup ¥$, and promises to be one of the most talked-about releases of the year.
