Kiko Kostadinov’s collection for women is a game of complexity, contrast, dystopia and neoculture.
Laura and Deanna Fanning, who have presided the brand’s womenswear line since last year, once again create a whole imaginary on the catwalk. A female tribe that evokes the aesthetics of 19th century bandits with the most contemporary touches that come directly from the future. The models look like cyborgs country parading down the catwalk, a totally unique concept born under the Gothic aura inspired by On the Silver Globe, the film by Andrzej Żuławski from the late 80s.
Nylon, lycra and synthetic fabrics come together with the retro throwback of velvet and the futuristic key of metallic colours and vibrant tones. A mosaic that conveys rebelliousness and strength. The fashion show was guarded by sculptures created by artist Thomas Petherick that contributed to the aesthetics of Gothic dystopia interrupted by a group of powerful women who were showing the collection. More than models, they were a sci-fi character.
