A former IKEA will be the new Printworks club called ‘Drumsheds’

Drumsheds, the reinvention of London’s legendary Printworks club, will open its doors next September.

A former IKEA will be the new Printworks club called ‘Drumsheds’

Part of our hearts went out when the iconic Printworks London announced its closure, with 2023 being its last season. But like a phoenix rising from the ashes, the organisation behind the English clubbing mecca has announced the birth of Drumsheds located in a former IKEA warehouse.

Drumsheds is set to revolutionise the London scene, offering a cultural space that combines music, art and innovative design. With its large capacity, adaptable design and dedication to delivering experiences, Drumsheds will become a vibrant cultural centre of gravity set to transform the city’s scene. As London eagerly awaits the opening of the venue, anticipation is growing for the artists who will be part of the line-up.

The new venue, designed by Broadwick Live, the innovative team behind renowned venues such as Printworks, Beams and Field Day, has a capacity of 15,000 people and an impressive 56,000 square metres of floor space. Located in the Meridian Water area, just minutes from Tottenham Hale in north London, Drumsheds aims to inspire, connect and make an impact through its diverse live music, culture and arts offering.

A space designed to make an impact

Drumsheds, located in a former IKEA, promises to offer a unique programme in a privileged setting. The venue is the largest of its kind in London, with multiple industrial rooms that can be continuously reconfigured to create new and innovative environments. The retained elements, such as the building’s old lift shafts, loading bays and machinery, give the space a distinctive character, conveying the same feel as the now defunct Printworks.

Inspired by the success of Printworks, which was a prestigious runner-up in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs of 2023, Drumsheds plans to introduce a fresh concept that emphasises daytime shows for a safer and more accessible event experience. While Printworks and the surrounding area is currently closed for refurbishment, Broadwick has plans to reopen the renowned superclub in 2026, taking forward its innovative approach to event production.

‘Drumsheds’ opening programme will be announced soon, and to keep up to date with the latest news, interested parties can sign up to the mailing list on their website.
