There it is. One of our favorite brands, Afterhomework, has just presented its SS20 men’s collection. Pierre Kaczmarek (@pierrekaczmarek), the brand’s creative director, and Elena Mottola (@elenamottola), stylist and art director, have again presented an impeccable collection.
The Parisian brand characterized by its androgynous and unisex style, this time has chosen to focus on men’s fashion. Without a doubt, this is its more personal collection.
Closer than ever to the beginnings of Afterhomework (@afterhomeworkparis), both creatives have decided to do something that really resembles themselves. To do this, they have focused their attention on menswear even though they have the fashion show during the Paris fashion week of women’s fashion.
The collection, inspired by all the people who surround them in their daily lives, is an authentic ode to their city. For this reason, they include photographs of souvenirs from Paris in the collection. Once again, the new designs are built from basic garments. The wrinkled and gathered fabric present in both FW19 and SS19 is present again, becoming a hail of identity for the brand. As a novelty, two pieces in this new collection, a pair of shorts and a skirt, are made from kitchen cloths.
Afterhomework SS20
This is the first time that the young creative firm presents a menswear collection that is also much more masculine than feminine. However, in the beginning, the gender of each garment was not questioned. It was simply based on creating. And although fashion is an advanced industry at the time, the reality of retail and customers is not the same. That’s why they decided to separate the two sexes in the commercial aspect, regardless of whether the same piece can be worn by a man or a woman.
Mens SS20 is presented at Tomorrow Ltd (@tomorrowcrew) in Rue Saint-Dominique until 26/06 by appointments only.
