Last September, ASICS and Chemist Creations presented their first collaboration, which is now on sale. The Los Angeles-based brand reinterprets GEL-KAYANO 5 OG and GEL-FUJITRABUCO 7, promising to become the collaboration of the year.
Just a month ago, Chemist Creations, the umbrella company of the creative C2H4 brand, was officially launched on the market as an independent brand. To celebrate, it has joined ASICS (@asics) in its first collaboration. The Los Angeles-based brand has reworked two silhouettes for a clean, futuristic makeover.
In the first, the ASICS GEL-KAYANO 5 OG, we can appreciate the chemical inspiration that characterizes Chemist Creations. On this occasion, the idea comes from the processes of sublimation. As it could not be otherwise, the color palette consists of creamy white and grayish blue.
The GEL-FUJITRABUCO 7, a trail running model, retains its original silhouette. The extremely thin nylon cords for the laces, Salomon style, stand out. On the heel, we find the detail of “化學製品 ” (Chinese typeface by Chemist Creations).
After the aggressive prints of the collaboration with Vivienne Westwood and the subtle makeover of her collaboration with the German brand GmbH, ASICS now shines through the scientific perspective of Chemist Creations.
While C2H4 (@c2h4) stands out for oversize and exaggerated silhouettes, Chemist Creations (@chemistcreations) reduces its products to the basics, focusing on colors, materials and texture.
As we told you a few months ago, the GEL-Kayano 5 has consolidated as one of the most trend shoes of 2019. Now, thanks to this new union, it aims to be the collaborative silhouette of the year.
The two collaborations of ASICS x Chemist Creations will go on sale in the coming days. The GEL-Kayano 5 OG will be launched tomorrow, October 19, in select stores. On the other hand, the GEL-Fujitrabuco 7, will be available on November 9.
