Twitter has confirmed that it is working to allow users to edit their tweets. After Elon Musk bought a 9% stake in the company, the tycoon asked users if they wanted an edit button. The answer was: yes.
Becoming Twitter’s largest shareholder, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX tweeted a poll asking users if they wanted an edit button. Hours later, the platform made it official that it is working on it.
The official Twitter account briefly showed how it works. Once a tweet has been published, the edit option will appear in the tweet’s options. They have not yet revealed whether it will be shown as ‘edited’ or not.
There is no official date for this new update, but it has opened the debate about the possible manipulation of tweets and the ease of picking up cable as soon as a publication gets out of control.

The social network has confirmed that it has been working on this function since last year and has ruled out that it is 100% dependent on the arrival of Elon Musk. The option to edit tweets will first be implemented on Twitter Blue.
