Are you interested in studying La Nueva Religión? Do you want to better understand the ethics of doing what you want? Two Benito fans have what you need: Bad Bunny 101. And best of all, the money from the courses will be raised for charity.
The course discusses Bad Bunny in an academic context. As indicated in the course syllabus, these classes provide an opportunity to “think critically” about the weekly topics.
The instructors at Bad Bunny 101 are, by their own admission, not experts, but devoted amateurs. Erika Vera and Sarah Cox, a lawyer and paralegal, were simply trying to convince a co-worker to love Bad Bunny as much as they do. Let’s hope that with this course they succeeded.
The class meets on Thursday nights at Zoom, and although no students are turned away for lack of funds, those who can are asked to pay 5 to 10 euros to donate to charities such as the Puerto Rico Food Bank.
Students range from superfans to novice listeners. And, of course, as with any educational course, to get the most out of Bad Bunny 101, it is essential to do your homework (read articles, watch videos) in advance, as well as to actively participate in class discussions. Following Benito on the social networks is a requirement, obviously.
The final exam is a virtual dogging party. As stated in the syllabus, “You will have a pass or fail.” I’m so nervous.
