Banksy’s latest work stolen in London

The latest work by the street artist Banksy, which consisted of pasting the image of three drones on a stop sign located in the London neighbourhood of Peckham, has disappeared. The theft occurred an hour after Banksy himself acknowledged responsibility for the intervention on his Instagram account.

Several witnesses have confirmed this to the British media, including the BBC, which is broadcasting the video showing the alleged theft. The footage shows an individual cutting the pole with the help of pliers and another man helping him up, while a group of people look on in amazement.

This is not the first time that creations by the mysterious graffiti artist, who conceals his identity, have been removed and then offered for sale. On Valentine’s Day this year, shortly after Banksy confirmed its authenticity, a 3.8 tonne mural entitled ‘Valentine’s Day Mascara’ was dismantled.

Closer than ever to discovering Banksy’s identity.
