Riccardo Tisci browses the Burberry archive and the most representative codes of the British house to present his SS21 pre-collection season. Among 20 outfits, the designer impeccably revives the legacy of founder Thomas Burberry.
The cast of Made in England models pose in front of each of their houses, distorting the classic tourist photo in England. The place is the perfect setting for a home-shoot that features pieces like Burberry‘s classic trench coats and checked jackets.
Floral prints inspired by the ancient gardens of England weave some of the designs, combined with pieces such as pleated skirts or corset dresses. Accessories such as mini-bags inspired by the 2000s or cross bags have just set the bar high in London’s street style.
“I wanted to draw on the familiar – the things that bring us comfort and strength. I turned to what first inspired me in the codes of the Burberry estate house, such as the paintings, iconic stripes, and unicorn emblems, but I revised them with a new perspective, incorporating elements of both sophistication and streetwear through the lens of the exterior [. … I am very proud of this collection, which not only reflects and celebrates the unique codes that make the house, but also the diversity of talent that represents our Burberry community, bringing to life the magic of the Burberry world,” Tisci said in a statement.
