Burberry teams up with director and choreographer Wayne McGregor to design the costumes for his latest work for The Royal Ballet.
Daniel Lee will be in charge of costume design for the new ballet production that will open on 9 June at London’s Royal Opera House. The work, which has not yet been titled, will feature a musical selection composed by Anna Thorvaldsdottir, a lighting set by Lucy Carter and a set design by Carmen Herrera, the iconic Cuban-born artist who died in 2022 at the age of 106.
“For this extraordinary Royal Ballet project we dreamed of bringing together a stellar team and Daniel Lee, an artist with a boundless imagination, is creating truly innovative works with movement and penetrating beauty. With his exceptional appreciation for all forms of dance, he seemed a natural partner for us. Together, with the Burberry team, we are working on something truly special, honouring Carmen and forging our own path at the same time,” says Wayne McGregor.
