Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY pays tribute to the diversity and liberation of complexes of the LGBT community in the most artistic way in his latest collection.
Jeffrey shows his admiration for the LGBT community through his art at Milan Fashion Week. This was his way of honoring and giving visibility to a community that has long faced hostility and defamation and refuses to remain hidden and self-conscious.
The collection is full of color, energy and freshness along with a touch of nostalgia; this is how Jeffrey perceives the queer world. Mesh is one of the main protagonists, appearing mainly on the tops. He introduces doodle and patchwork prints, as well as hoods with animal ears, manifesting the recreational spirit of the universe that inspires him. Skirts also abound in the collection, referring to genderless fashion and genderfluid.
The director refers to the LGBT universe in an exclusive press release: “Queerness is rebellion, but it is also adaptation. It is a process of constant synthesis and hybridization, a constant flux. Always unapologetically, of course, but in the face of external hostility we find innovative ways to survive,” were his words hailing the community.
The collection is now available on the designer’s website.
