Dior (Men) Fall 22: Youth, “On The Road” and Kerouac

Dior (men) travels to London to present its Fall 2022 proposal designed by Kim Jones. Discover all the details of this show.

It seems that this time the city of Paris has not been the privileged one to host the latest show of Dior (Men) designed by its current creative director, Kim Jones, since on this occasion, the “maison” has decided to move to the capital of the United Kingdom, London, to present its latest Autumn 2022 collection and thus pay a small tribute to the designer’s origins.

Held in a stadium-sized space at Kensington Olympia in front of a local community of celebrities, young designers, students and international guests and based on a convergence in time between his obsession with Jack Kerouac, the Beat Generation and the fashion house itself, Kim presented one of his best and cleanest collections.

With a total of 49 looks, the models began to parade steadily on an 80-metre-long facsimile of “On The Road”, typewritten by Kerouac. This novel was published in 1957, coinciding with the death of Christian Dior and the appointment of Yves Saint Laurent as creative director of the maison. Among the garments in the collection, we must highlight the tweed checked jackets and coats cut on the bias, the trench coats, the 1950s flood trousers cut at the ankle with sequined socks, the Fair Isle jumpers and hats with transparent paillettes overlays and the dad ties placed on shirts made with glitter strips and toile de jouy.

Finally, the show was rounded off with a performance by the legendary singer Grace Jones, who left the audience speechless.
