Discover together with FOOTDISTRICT the meaning of ‘KOGARASHI’

The Japanese term is untranslatable into any other language and refers to the exact moment when bad weather begins to be felt.

Asics brought together the nine leading European retailers at its headquarters to develop a new project and, of course, FOOTDISTRICT was there. Divided into teams and mixed in a workshop, they had to come up with a concept on which to develop the Asics GT-2160. Each of them had to come up with ideas and evaluate them in order to establish a winner. And the winning concept came straight from Japan, as did the brand.

It is the word ‘KOGARASHI’, whose origin is to be found in nature and literally translates as “death of the trees”, just at the moment when their leaves begin to fall. That is why the Asics GT-2160 have been designed in cool tones and details in orange, yellow and green colours.

For this occasion, FOOTDISTRICT has explored and taken the term to its most literal aspect, representing the precise moment when the weatherman predicts the arrival of cold and rain.

The GT-2160 KOGARASHI will be launched on 20 October and will only be available at TOMO shops that participated in the workshop.
