VETEMENTS has just unveiled the lookbook for its Spring/Summer 2024 collection, this time forgoing the physical runway in an attempt to take a more sustainable approach.
Guram Gvasalia focuses on one of the brand’s main style codes: oversized proportions. Drama takes center stage in extremely oversized coats, sharp blazers, colorful tracksuits, oversized jeans and many other pieces.
“I wanted the collection to have a visual effect of garments generated by artificial intelligence. However, we still live in the real world. I wanted to create physical objects that look and feel like AI-generated units, while exploring all facets of what fashion is, from casual to high fashion,” shares Gvasalia. “On the contrary, at its core, the collection is actually anti-AI, as the quality and craftsmanship involved can only be done by human hands and with a passion that no machine can have.”
The collection introduces daring VETEMENTS evening wear, such as sequinned mermaid or velvet cacoon-style dresses, sculpted bodice dresses with worked tails, sequin elongated plaid blazers and long tweed coats with crystal and pearl detailing. Gvasalia has shown that he can hold his own as a designer with a surprising new proposal that combines different styles and is crowned with the debut of evening looks.
On the other hand, Marine Serre celebrates music in ‘Heartbeat’.
