“What is normal today,” whispers Silvia Venturini as the Fendi Men FW20 show begins. A question that refers to the dystopian reality we are living. To which the director responds with a workear collection with psychedelic touches thanks to the collaboration of Noel Fielding.
If you have been watching the last seasons of The Great British Bake Off on Netflix, you will know Noel Fielding and his peculiar style. If you follow the comedian on social networks, you will know that he is also an artist and that he loves to share his multicoloured illustrations. That same energy is present in the new collection of the maison.
“I think we are more open to everything, even if we are confined. We had to change our habits a lot and we have shown how flexible we are to what is happening. For me, Noel Fielding represents this”, explains Silvia. The firm refuses to be influenced by the current situation and is looking for ways to get back to normal.
The shades of cream, charcoal and brown give way to saffron, fuchsia, cobalt blue, green and orange. Fendi Men FW21 challenges us with what we perceive as “normal” to reinvent the clothes we’ll wear when we emerge from confinement. Energetic and optimistic looks as well as the soundtrack by the Italian electronic artist Not Waving.
