Unveiled for the first time in LOEWE’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection, the new Paseo bag presents an elegant vision of modern femininity and a new aesthetic for the house’s luxury leather goods.
After months of research and development by Jonathan Anderson and the LOEWE atelier, the Paseo bag is the latest addition to the house’s leather goods collection. Fluid in form and function, the Paseo uses an incredibly supple new calf leather to create a distinctive elliptical silhouette in which two folds carry the material into its tubular handles.
To further emphasise the soft feel of the leather and the marquetry work, the signature flamingo spiral knots adorn the corners. Streamlined details such as the discreet zip fastening and suede lining ensure an easy-to-wear lightness.
The Paseo made its debut on the SS23 catwalk in Paris in a range of irresistible shades: dark butter, burgundy, light mauve, emerald and a khaki green topped with the immaculate bracts of a bright, exotic anthurium flower. Elsewhere, the bag appears enlarged in XL proportions, or in its glamorous evening version, in petite black, emerald green or soft white, and combined with a golden doughnut-shaped chain that snakes around the edge of the bag, highlighting the unique Paseo silhouette. The final embellishment is the LOEWE logo engraved in gold on the front of the bag.
LOEWE‘s history of leather expertise, which dates back to the house’s founding in 1846, remains an unquestionable benchmark. The Paseo‘s lightness can be traced back to the Aire Series bag that inspired it in the mid-2000s, and its style is summed up in its name and its invitation to stroll through the streets of Spain. The Paseo bag is a symbol of both contemporary craftsmanship and timeless renewal.
