“A celebration for the person who runs on trails in a dress” is how Sandy Liang describes her upcoming collaboration with Salomon, of which we now have the first images.

Sandy Liang and Salomon have unveiled the first images of their long-awaited collaboration with their two offerings Salomon RX Moc 3.0 and XT-6 Expanse Plus. Both silhouettes retain a sporty touch, fusing it with Liang’s romantic style. Nothing bad could come out of a synergy between two brands with such a special relationship, dating back to the New York designer’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection for which Salomon offered its technical footwear.

“There’s a sportiness about Salomon that resonates with me. Growing up in the ’90s, I loved wearing sneakers. I incorporated this into my design process, tapping into nostalgic colors and details like the anime-inspired flower decal seen throughout the capsule,” Liang recounted of the collaboration. The first woman to lead a Salomon collection has also described the release as “a celebration of the person who runs trails in a dress.”

The classic XT-6 Expanse arrives in the “Cradle Pink/Jolly Green/Black” hue and features a ’90s anime flower print decal, plus Salomon’s signature stitched panels and retro Sensifit™ construction. The RX Moc 3.0 consists of a transparent mesh upper and an oversized EVA midsole that ensures a smooth ride. It does not include seams, which limits friction. Prices will be $190 and $110 respectively.

Both models will go on sale on April 28 on Sandy Liang’s website and in stores, and on May 5 they will be on sale at HBX.

And speaking of footwear, Pharrell Williams and adidas bring a new Humanrace Samba.
