Gmbh´s AW22 collection deeply explores religion, sex and couture

GMBH presents “Talisman”, its Autumn/Winter 22 collection, in Berlin during the Paris Fashion Week (PFW). Find out all the details.

Every edition of fashion week, Berlin-based brand GMBH becomes one of the most eagerly awaited brands to hit the Parisian catwalks. This year it was the case again, although unfortunately the designer duo Serhat Isik and Benjamin Alexander Huseby decided to present their collection digitally, but far from the excitement of putting on a show fading away, it lingered in the air.

Held in Berlin, engraved in the atelier of the architects Brandlhuber+, but presented during the official calendar of the Paris fashion week, GMBH revealed its Autumn/Winter 22 proposal entitled “Talisman”, which, as the designers themselves commented, is a profound personal exploration of their relationship with religion, haute couture and sex, as they have always spoken of fashion as a kind of protection, of a physical and spiritual kind.

As for the collection, made up of 32 looks, we can see how red, black and white, kaftans and silk tunics predominate, covered by hand-painted protective calligraphy and combined with thigh-high boots. We can also see how the tailoring garments are the other protagonists of the collection and how the brand’s iconic crossover neckline is still present in its proposals. Going a little deeper, we have to point out the details in imitation astrakhan leather, common in Muslim countries, or the exaggerated collars and cuffs in synthetic leather. The final touch to the looks was the jewellery designed by Nhat-Vu Dang with a mix of stones and reclaimed silver and gold-plated jewellery.

The GMBH designer duo’s ability to break the mould when it comes to men’s fashion is undeniable. Do you dare to wear one of their creations? Let’s hope so, because we can’t wait for this collection to go on sale.
