Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW) is one of those that has been gaining more prominence over time, becoming one of the most interesting to analyse. Dozens of proposals have paraded down the Danish catwalk, but if there is one that has particularly caught our attention it has been that of the designer Henrik Vibskov.
Used to presenting his collections during Paris Fashion Week (PFW), Henrik seems to have felt the nostalgia and melancholy that many of us sometimes feel when we think of returning home and to our origins. For this and other reasons, Vibskov has decided to deploy all his talent and heavy artillery and let the citizens of the Nordic city enjoy his creations for the coming autumn/winter season.
Entitled “Biblioteca of Micro Selves” and with a total of 36 looks, H.V.’s latest collection has been marked above all by reflections on memory and the archive of the future (thinking endlessly about a different future and outer space), but also by lunar prints, moon shoes and futuristic popcorn fabrics. If there is one garment that stands out in particular, it is the life jacket that he has designed in various colours, making it one of the main attractions of his collection. We should also mention the first look that opened the show, characterised by the origami-style pockets attached to a harness that was tied to the body. Our favourite garments from the collection? The neon orange plaid coats, the one-colour outfits that simulate a pointed look and the oversized, quilted outerwear.
It’s more than clear that Henrik Vibskov is one of the most powerful and creative designers Copenhagen has ever produced.
