In line with the strong impulses in favour of sustainability and circularity that Zara is giving, especially since the arrival of Marta Ortega as president, the Renewcell X Zara capsule collection has just been released. A collection made from the disruptive technology developed by the company Renewcell, who patented a fibre called Circulose obtained from 100% textile waste.
This latest sustainable collection developed by Zara is part of the “Sustainaibility Innovation Hub” promoted by Inditex. A platform from which it is open to finance, promote and scale new technologies, materials and processes of a sustainable and circular nature to generate an impact within the traditional model of the fashion industry.
An end to which Zara would have given shelter to a first capsule collection made of CO2 developed hand in hand with LanzaTech in 2021. This has been followed by a capsule made from textile waste together with Infinited Fiber, a second capsule, this June, again together with LanzaTech, and now this first association, in August, with Renewcell.
And all this while, at a corporate level, Inditex committed with the same Infinited Fiber to make purchases for more than 100 million euros of its recycled fibre Infinna, or, even more recently, announced its entry into the capital of Circ, a US start-up specialising in recycling technologies.
The collection includes a knitted body with holes and long sleeves (29,95 euros); a tunic-style jumper with boat neck and long sleeves (25,95 euros); high-waist trousers with elastic waist (25,95 euros); a long dress with straps (39,95 euros); a knitted jumper with long sleeves and buttons (29,95 euros); and a long “cut out” dress (39,95 euros).
