According to new FCC files, Apple’s iPhone 12 can charge accessories wirelessly through a built-in smartphone transmitter.
According to The Verge: “In addition to being able to charge with a WPT desktop charger, the iPhone 2020 models also feature 360 kHz WPT charging for accessories. In more basic terms, this means that all iPhone 12 models – including the Mini, Pro, and Pro Max – have the ability to provide a wireless charge for external devices.
Apple has not officially announced the secret charging feature. In addition, the files specify that wireless charging cannot be used in any Apple accessories currently on the market.
