Continuing with its sustainability goals, UNIQLO has announced “Unite: The Power of Clothes”, a global campaign focused on reducing ocean pollution. Because you can make a difference with your shopping too.
Starting from the cities where we live, plastic waste flows into the seas and oceans, threatening our ecosystem. Join: The Power of Clothes is a project that aims to protect planet Earth. By purchasing UNIQLO garments made from recycled materials or jeans made with BlueCycle Jeans technology, the brand will donate $1 million to The Nippon Foundation to help them with their ocean clean-up programme.
From 4-31 July, UNIQLO is activating two initiatives: “Shop and UNiTE” and “Learn and UNiTE” to raise awareness of global issues and inspire action to make the world a better place. The collection you can buy not only has items created sustainably and with recycled products, but also includes the Doraemon Sustainability Mode: featuring the green character Doraemon, UNIQLO’s Global Sustainability Ambassador.
Elements of Doraemon’s sustainability mode “UNITE: THE POWER OF CLOTHING” will be available at UNIQLO on 4 July.
