As Kanye West had already announced, on July 1st he released a new solo album after publishing “The Life of Pablo” in 2016. A choral album featuring John Legend, Kid Cudi, Nicki Minaj, Ty Dolla $ign, Def Loaf, Jeremih, Young Thug, Charlie Wilson, 070 Shake and PartyNextDoo
Despite his time in silence because of his admission to a mental hospital in 2016 (which led to the cancellation of the San Pablo tour), the rapper never ceased to be in the news and on everyone’s lips, both for his statements in favor of Trump’s presidency and for his statements that slavery had been an option to which must be added the statements about the production of the albums of Pusha-T, Nas, Kid Cudi and Teyana Taylor.
Kanye West - Ye
One of the most fascinating things about Kanye West’s music is how it connects with her personal life. His latest album is no exception, the cover is accompanied by the phrase “I hate being bi-polar it’s awesome“. Throughout the 7 tracks that make up the work West tells us a lot about himself.
One of the most painful tracks is “I thought about kiling you” in which he explains what it is like to live with a mental illness all your life and all the negative thoughts that can’t be controlled. In “Wouldn’t leave” the lyrics are addressed to his wife Kim Kardashian (@kimkardashian) and in “Violent Crimes” to his two daughters, North and Chicago. A clear example that this work breaks the barrier of the merely artistic. Besides West’s introspective work doesn’t end here, he also talks about the negative things about being married to him and the fear he feels that one day someone will treat his two daughters the way he treats women.
In Ye, Kanye leaves aside the artistic point of view and focuses on a personal album, full of pain and reality. In spite of all this he is still the same old Kanye with statements like “I don’t take advice from people less successful tan me” which he raps on “No Mistakes“. Long life Kanye.
