Since his appointment as artistic director of KENZO in September 2021, the arrival of the first pair of trainers designed by Nigo has been impatiently awaited.
Under a minimalist inspiration, the designer rescues some of the elements that marked the skate aesthetics of the mid-90s to include them in the new KENZO-DOME. The name pays homage to the emblematic DÔME in Paris, the skating rink located near the Palais de Tokyo that brings together the most renowned skaters.
Made from suede or grained leather, they feature a large Napa upper with KENZO rubber flags and sit on a rubber outsole. They are available in different colourways and their aesthetic is reminiscent of some of Nike‘s most recognisable silhouettes such as the Air Force 1 Low or the SB Janoski.
KENZO-DOME designed by Nigo will go on sale on May 30th through kenzo.com and selected boutiques.
