During this fashion month, the fashion shows have given us some clues of the trends that will mark this Spring / Summer 2022. For the coming season, one of the fabrics that we are going to see the most is the space-dyed.
This is a technique in which a single yarn is dyed with two or more repeating colours. Depending on how many colours are used, the resulting dye can look different. The emergence of this trend is nothing less than tye-die printed knitwear. A new way of applying this technique that was such a hit two years ago.
This fashion month, Eckhaus Latta, Jonathan Simkhai, Bevza, Missoni and Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini were some of the brands that opted for space-dyed in their collections. The trend comes in both jumpers and dresses. For example, Bevza’s outfits, Missoni’s multicoloured jumpers and Jonathan Simkhai’s cut-out dresses. But it is unanimous that all the looks are as cool as they are warm.
There are already articles that follow the space-dyed trend in case you want to get a head start on spring, which is when it will be in the spotlight. We show you some of them:
