For its latest collection, Lad Musician adopts the loud and dark aesthetic of the punk aesthetic. Rather than offering another rock-laden capsule, the label offers a more oversized, minimalist perspective.
Taking the idea “Dead Post Punk Soul”, the collection responds to the post-punk, Brian Jones’ 60’s and Rachel Carson’s experimentation. To execute this expression, the colour palette could not be other than sober tones such as dark purple, green and black, among others.
For many of the garments, the brand used an oversize silhouette, which was a new addition to Lad Musician. The collection features a wide range of outerwear such as a long black flared jacket, a Chester coat or a hooded velvet coat.
Cotton and wool were the central fabrics for the trousers in the collection. While the shirts stand out for their flowing, soft fabrics. The brand par excellence among young Tokyo indies continues with its minimalist aesthetic and a dark air that takes us back to the 60s.
