The inspiration of travel, ever-present in the Louis Vuitton universe, is the common thread of a new nautical capsule collection, available now. Elegant in design and relaxed in spirit, the collection encompasses women’s ready-to-wear, leather goods, accessories and jewellery. Classic elements of the seafaring aesthetic are rewritten with a youthful aura in casual, coastal-themed tailored ensembles, sea-themed bags and cool silk scarves.
With the arrival of spring, this transitional season marks a sophisticated twist on women’s sportswear. Looks are organically articulated in blue and white, with stripes here and there: on T-shirt dresses, clean-cut shirts or plush garments. A double-breasted blazer paired with shorts or a bustier with trousers exudes a brightness that is as suitable for the city as it is for the coast.
In bags, red leather permeates the Coussin or the cube-shaped Noé. The iconic new GO-14 model, which reinterprets the malletage technique – the characteristic braided quilting inside Louis Vuitton boots, is available in red and navy blue. With a nautical-style chain handle, the pochette version of the Twist West can be carried from day to night. Both the sequin-striped Capuccines Mini and the lighthouse-shaped micro bag are two must-haves in your wardrobe.
Nautical motifs are also found in Louis Vuitton’s new silk versions. From the iconic square model of the 90s to the BB bandeau, the brand’s signature Cordage integrates the high seas into the Monogram print. Lightweight and distinguished, the Sailor Bandana model combines the altamar with the Monogram and Damero prints in four vivid shades, including vermilion and sky blue.
