Louis Vuitton presents its new Workwear capsule and partnership with Timberland

Louis Vuitton launches a capsule collection dedicated to utilitarian clothing as part of Paris to VA, the autumn-winter 2024 runway show for the brand’s menswear line created by Pharrel Williams. The launch encompasses ready-to-wear garments, the limited edition Keepall 50 Toolbox bag and the brand’s long-awaited boot collaboration with Timberland.

The capsule collection, which was one of the key elements of the January 2024 runway, explores the origins of utilitarian clothing in the American West through Louis Vuitton’s savoir-faire, and encapsulates the fusion of dandy elegance, utilitarian clothing codes and comfort intrinsic to the collection. With buoyant craftsmanship, it is a reflection of the idiosyncratic LVERS philosophy that permeates the work of Pharrell Williams, Creative Director of Louis Vuitton‘s men’s division, as well as the Louis Vuitton Studio Prêt-à-Porter Homme line.

Ready-to-wear unites the characteristic codes of workwear or utilitarian clothing with Louis Vuitton’s intricate craftsmanship. With an emphasis on versatility, the sophisticated patterns of these garments combine durability and refinement in overdyed jacquard suits in a range of browns, blacks and beiges. Distinctive leather trims and appliqués of the Wild West wardrobe adorn the pockets of trucker jackets and coats with a sculptural, voluptuous cut, true to the functional lines of American utilitarian clothing. Buttons resembling turquoise adorn the garments, along with delicate pearls, embroidery and studs that exude the Maison’s savoir-faire.

The capsule collection presents one of the most significant elements of the autumn-winter 2024 menswear collection: the Keepall 50 Toolbox, a reinterpretation of the Maison’s iconic bag, this time through the sieve of utilitarian aesthetics. Created in the image of the distinctive toolbox from the origins of American utilitarian clothing, the Keepall embodies a new functionality. Crafted from natural leather (with its earthy tonality intact), the bag is composed of multiple pockets and exterior rivets, and is lined with Monogram canvas. Evoking the travelling roots of utilitarian clothing, the capsule collection also includes a flask and a steel cigarette case with engravings inspired by Wild West work boots. The finishing touch: a silk foulard that pays homage to the timeless key accessory of the Western wardrobe.

The capsule collection includes the first release of Louis Vuitton’s collaboration with Timberland: work boots. Launched on the louisvuitton.com website and the Louis Vuitton app on 18 August 2024, the designs will be available in selected shops worldwide from 8 August 2024.

Reimagined from the Maison’s perspective and made in Fiesso d’Artico, Louis Vuitton’s Italian footwear atelier, the 6-inch LV boots, developed in collaboration with the American brand, are reinterpreted in two designs and several declinations. Each has been crafted in soft Italian nubuck of the highest quality, with an insulating system, taped seams and water-resistant construction, as well as the signature rubber sole of the work boots. The LV 6 inch boots can boast the most beautiful craftsmanship and a stylish LV Monogram engraving, visible at close range. It is available in traditional nubuck wheat and black, with Monogram embossed tongue, Louis Vuitton eyelets and decorative leather labels.

LV BOOT / Louis Vuitton x Timberland

The LV boot, the second offering from the Louis Vuitton/Timberland collaboration, amplifies the silhouette of the LV 6-inch boot by 15%, offering an avant-garde take on the classic. This model takes shape in five different variations, all with the idiosyncratic rubber sole. One design comes in refined wheat or black leather, with a Monogram print lined tongue and decorative leather labels.

Another is a military boot with an elongated shaft, lace fastenings and strap detailing takes shape in polished wheat-coloured leather or black calf leather. A third model is a laceless boot with brown leather ankle straps, made in nubuck and available in two colours: wheat or black. Finally, a laceless boot with an ankle strap and buckles on the sides, as well as a harness in nubuck in wheat or black.

As part of the Louis Vuitton and Timberland capsule collection, the brand is launching a limited edition of fifty pairs of the exceptional Louis Vuitton 6-inch boot. Created in collaboration with a cast of Louis Vuitton’s expert shoemakers, jewellers and solid manufacturing specialists, these unique work boots are crafted in soft, water-resistant, premium Italian leather with a classic Monogram print in a custom reinterpretation of the classic rubber sole utility boot.

The model sparkles with the initials LV and the legend “THE SUN IS SHINING ON US” engraved in 18-carat gold on the tongue, a reference to the statement made by Pharrell Williams, Creative Director of Louis Vuitton’s men’s division, on the occasion of his debut at the Maison in June 2023. This footwear masterpiece is sold with a leather and plexiglass shoe box personalised with the Monogram and natural cowhide leather straps, as seen on the autumn-winter 2024 runway.

A close friend of Pharrell Williams and a native of Virginia Beach, Pusha T finally joins the Maison officially.
